Description

Red Bell Peppers are a popular vegetable rich in color and flavor. This variety differs from the blocky color pepper varieties, with its elongated shape. The pepper should be free of brusing or blemishes, with a fresh green stem. Peppers should be heavy for their size (reflecting their thick, well-formed and well-hydrated walls) and firm. Peppers are very high in Vitamin C, and are rich in antioxidant and anti-inflammatory nutrients. You can typically keep peppers in the vegetable compartment of the refrigerator for approximately 7-10 days. Try using a moist cloth or paper towel in the storage compartment to help the pepper maintain moisture and extend its consistent texture before consuming.
