Description

Green Bell Peppers with their sweet crunchy taste, are blocky shaped, and will typically feel heavy (reflecting their thick, well formed and well hydrated walls). The pepper should be free of bruising or blemishes, with a fresh green stem. Peppers are very high in Vitamin C, and are rich in antioxidant and anti-inflammatory nutrients. You can typically keep peppers in the vegetable compartment of the refrigerator for approximately 7-10 days. Try using a moist cloth or paper towel in the storage compartment to help the pepper maintain moisture and extend its consistent texture before consuming.

Fun Facts

All sweet peppers are green at the immature state. As the peppers mature, they turn color. The most predominant color for a mature sweet pepper is red, although other colors are also available including gold, purple, orange, and brown. Colored peppers tend to be sweeter than green peppers because the sugar content increases as a sweet pepper matures.
